Masculin Feminin 1966 German A1 Film Poster, Hans Hillmann

The first-year-of-release German film poster for Jean-Luc Godard's Masculin Feminin featuring fantastic art by Hans Hillmann. A rare and very beautiful poster.

Considered the founding father of the modern German film poster, Hans Hillmann (1925 - 2014) designed 130 film posters between 1953 and 1974, including designs for landmark films such as Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai and Robert Bresson’s Pickpocket.

He enjoyed a long-running collaboration with Jean-Luc Godard, designing eight posters for his films’ German releases. You can even see Hillmann’s posters in the background of Juliette Janson’s flat in Godard’s 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her.

This original vintage movie poster is sized 23 1/4 x 33 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).
