Bally Plume c1980 Shoe Advertising Poster, Roger Bezombes

A gorgeously stylish original Bally advertising poster from c1980, known as the Plume design. A high heel packed with vivid roses, a bright blue eye and a sweeping peacock feather rising from the heel — it is fashion advertising with full surrealist flair. Bold, glamorous and beautifully strange.

Founded in Switzerland in 1851, Bally built its name on luxury footwear, craftsmanship and elegant design. By the late 20th century, the brand’s posters had become far more than simple advertising, turning shoes into bold, collectable works of art.

The artwork is by Roger Bezombes, the French painter and poster artist known for his rich colour, decorative imagination and dreamlike compositions. Here, he transforms a shoe into something part bouquet, part plume, part fashion fantasy. Chic, feminine and fabulously decorative.

This vintage advertising poster has been professionally linen-backed and is sized an impressive 47 x 67 1/4 inches (plus a little more with the linen). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
