Contratto 1922 Vintage French Alcohol Advertising Poster, Leonetto Cappiello

Original 1920s French vintage Contratto alcohol advertising poster featuring a wonderfully art deco design by poster artist Leonetto Cappiello. Another famous image by Cappiello - often called 'the father of modern advertising' because of his innovation in poster design.

This poster is from the first printing in 1922 for Contratto. Contratto was founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto  producing one of the first Italian sparkling wines re-fermented in the bottle. In 1920 Contratto began to produce vermouths and liqueurs. The processing techniques and recipes have remained almost unchanged to this day.

This is the larger and rarer two-sheet version of the poster sized 55 X 78 inches and in Rolled Linen-Backed Excellent  Condition. It will be sent rolled (unframed).
