Paradis Latin Nuit de Paradis 70s French Cabaret Advertising Poster, Fonteneau

Stunning original vintage 1970s French advertising poster for Parisian Cabaret show Paradis Latin - Nuit de Paradis.  We love the design by J. M. Fonteneau.

The Paradis Latin is a theater at number 28, rue du Cardinal Lemoine, in the Latin Quarter of Paris. It was first built on the rue des Fosses-Saint-Victor in 1803 and called Théâtre Latin. It burned down in 1870, but was rebuilt on the rue du Cardinal Lemoine, as Paradis Latin in 1887–1889 by Gustave Eiffel. It was closed around 1900, but was rehabilitated, starting in 1973, and reopened, in 1977, as a cabaret.

Jean-Marie Rivière, artistic director, assisted by the author Frédéric Botton, presented the first Paris Paradis show on November 14, 1977, which was a triumph. In 1979 two years after the opening of Paris Paradis, Jean-Jacques Debout and Roger Dumas created the Nuit de Paradis show for Jean-Marie Rivière.

This vintage poster was originally folded (as issued) with light ageing and tiny wear on folds. It has been professionally linen-backed in the European Style (without any restoration) and looks fabulous. It is sized 40 1/2 x 58 inches (41 1/2 x 59 inches including the linen-backing) and will be sent rolled (unframed).
