    The incredibly rare first-year-of-release UK quad film poster for 50s noir classic The Night of the Hunter.

    Poorly received on its initial release, The Night of the Hunter (incredibly, the only film the great actor Charles Laughton ever directed) has come to be regarded as a stand-alone masterwork. A horror movie with qualities of a Grimm fairy tale and starring the sublimely sinister Robert Mitchum as the iconic, murderous traveling preacher Harry Powell (he of the 'love' and 'hate' tattooed knuckles). A brooding, expressionistic American classic, rightly considered one of the greatest and influential films of all time.

    This vintage movie poster has been professionally linen-backed and is sized 30 x 40 inches (31 1/4 x 41 1/4 inches including the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
