La Dolce Vita 1960 Czech A3 Film Poster, Karel Vaca

We adore this original and very rare first-year-of-release Czech A3 film poster for Federico Fellini's classic La Dolce Vita. Designed by Karel Vaca, elegant, mysterious and highly stylised, the poster uses a striking fashion-like female figure with sunglasses and refined decorative detail, creating a sophisticated visual response to one of the great films of European cinema.

Released in 1960, La Dolce Vita was directed by Federico Fellini and stars Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg and Anouk Aimee. Set in Rome, the film follows a journalist moving through a world of celebrity, nightlife, wealth and spiritual emptiness. It became a landmark of modern cinema and gave the world some of Fellini's most unforgettable images, including the famous Trevi Fountain sequence.

Czech film posters are admired for their artistic independence and imaginative reinvention of international films. Karel Vaca was one of the leading Czech poster designers, known for his wit, elegance and ability to distil a film into a memorable graphic image and this design is one of, if not, his best.

This vintage film poster was folded (as issued) and has been professionally linen-backed. It is sized 11 1/8 x 15 1/2 inches (plus a little more with the linen-backing) and will be sent rolled (unframed).
