Marvel 1971 Blacklight No4010 Odin and Hela Poster, Jack Kirby

A spectacular original Marvel Third Eye blacklight poster from 1971, featuring Odin and Hela in a vivid psychedelic design by Jack Kirby. Bursting with electric colour, fantasy energy and cosmic drama, the poster is a fantastic example of Marvel's early 1970s blacklight era, when comic art crossed over into counterculture wall decoration.

Jack Kirby was one of the most important and influential comic artists of the 20th century, co-creating or defining many of Marvel's most iconic characters and visual worlds. His work on Thor and the mythology of Asgard gave superhero comics a grand, operatic scale, full of gods, monsters, cosmic battles and explosive design. This poster captures that Kirby energy beautifully.

Blacklight posters were a key part of early 1970s visual culture, with fluorescent inks designed to glow under ultraviolet light. The last image shown is of the poster under UV light.

This vintage poster was rolled and has been professionally linen-backed. It is sized 21 1/2 x 33 1/4 inches (plus a little with the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
