The Umbrellas of Cherbourg 1966 Czech A3 Film Poster, Miroslav Vystrcil

A beautiful original Czech A3 film poster for The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, designed by Miroslav Vystrcil for the 1966 Czech release of Jacques Demy's celebrated musical romance. The artwork is elegant and poetic, with a strong red composition and a simplified umbrella motif that captures the film's mood without relying on conventional star portraits.

Originally released in 1964, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is one of the great French musicals. Directed by Jacques Demy and starring Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo, the film tells a bittersweet story of young love, separation and memory, with every line of dialogue sung to Michel Legrand's famous score. Its colour, emotion and visual sophistication have made it a landmark of European cinema.

This vintage film poster was folded (as issued) and has now been professionally linen-backed. It is sized 11 1/4 x 16 inches (plus a little more with the linen-backing) and will be sent rolled (unframed).
