Bringing Up Baby R1950s French Moyenne Film Poster Jean Mascii

A wildly fun original French Moyenne poster for Bringing Up Baby, made for a 1950s French re-release of Howard Hawks’ screwball masterpiece. With its blazing orange-and-yellow burst, chic portraits of Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant, and Baby the leopard causing trouble front and centre, it nails the film’s madcap energy in one brilliant image. Exceedingly rare, and in superb condition.

First released in 1938, Bringing Up Baby is Hollywood chaos at its finest: Cary Grant as a buttoned-up palaeontologist, Katharine Hepburn as the whirlwind heiress who derails his life, and a tame leopard somehow making everything worse. Fast, sharp and completely eccentric, it remains one of the great screwball comedies.

The poster art is by Jean Mascii, a giant of post-war French film poster design. His version gives the film a punchy French twist: glamorous stars, bold hand-lettering and an explosive pop of colour. Elegant, chaotic and irresistible.

This vintage film poster was folded (as issued) but has been professionally linen-backed and is sized 22 1/2 x 30 3/4 inches (plus a little more with the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
