Goldfinger R1967 Swedish 1 Sheet Film Poster, Gosta Aberg

A seriously slick original Swedish film poster for Goldfinger, re-released in Sweden in 1967. Sean Connery is peak Bond here: sharp suit, raised eyebrow, danger everywhere. The design brings together the giant gold hand, Shirley Eaton, Honor Blackman and a very cool blue-black palette for a poster that feels pure 60s spy glamour.

Directed by Guy Hamilton, Goldfinger is the Bond film that set the template: killer theme song, outrageous villain, Aston Martin, Fort Knox, lethal gadgets and one of the most iconic Bond girls in Pussy Galore. It is stylish, witty and still one of the sharpest entries in the whole 007 series.

The Swedish artwork by Gösta Åberg has a beautifully graphic, pared-back feel. Rather than overloading the design, it lets the big shapes, bold typography and icy photo-montage do the work. Clean, cool and very Scandinavian, it gives Goldfinger a fresh international twist with bags of vintage Bond attitude.
