Original Death Line 1973 Concept Artwork by Vic Fair

Fabulous original concept artwork by celebrated British film poster designer Vic Fair for the 1970s horror Death Line.

Fair's initial designs featuring a tube train were vetoed by London Transport as they worried it would stop people using the underground, so he redesigned it replacing the train with a skull. Here is his final concept rough which appeared on the final printed quad (as part of a double-bill) pictured for reference (not included). Stunning design full of striking detail and signed by Fair.

Like with others of Fair's roughs, layers of artwork are cut and laid on top of and aside each other in an almost mosaic fashion giving a wonderful insight into his design process. Affixed to the original board that Fair used and includes a sheet of tracing paper applied as an overlay.

Naturally a very rare, special item with solid provenance having been consigned to us by Vic Fair's son.

Sized approx. 24 1/2 x 16 inches.
