Bath 1962 British Railways Travel Poster, Reginald Lander

A cool, cultured take on Bath. Reginald Lander's 1962 railway poster featuring a wonderfully illustration of the bronze head of the Roman Goddess Minerva, which was discovered in Bath in 1727, against a clean white field With restrained typography and a faint architectural backdrop of the Royal Crescent giving the whole thing a wonderfully modern museum-poster feel.

Lander was a prolific British commercial artist, and this design shows how sophisticated railway advertising had become by the early 1960s: less postcard, more graphic statement. It is quiet, elegant and very easy to live with.

This original poster is sized approx. 25 x 40 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).
