One of our favourites from the new collection. Isobel, or The Trail's End is a 1920 silent northern drama directed by Edwin Carewe, adapted from James Oliver Curwood's wilderness story. Snowbound danger, romance and melodrama give it the sweeping flavour of early adventure cinema.
The Swedish poster comes from a golden period of Scandinavian silent-film design, when bold shapes and hand-crafted lettering did more than simply sell a screening. Rare, atmospheric and over a century old, it is a remarkable survivor.
Although unsigned, it is highly likely that the design is by lauded Swedish artist Eric Rohman who was the primary house artist commissioned by the major distributors including Skandinavisk Film-Central who handled the distribution of this title.
This original movie poster is sized approx. 23 1/4 x 35 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).
