Paris on 14 July, all colour, rhythm and flags. This 1964 travel poster reproduces Marcel Gromaire's wonderfully angular view of a Parisian street celebration, with the Eiffel Tower in the distance and tricolours cutting through the composition.
Gromaire was a major French modernist painter, and his chunky geometry gives this tourism image far more bite than a conventional postcard view. Art poster and travel poster in equal measure.
This original poster has been professionally linen-backed and is sized approx. 24 1/2 x 38 inches (plus a little including the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
