Rome, seen through the jet-age lens. This 1966 Alitalia poster by Harmut Hielscher combines monumental red typography with a dense collage of Roman landmarks, from the Spanish Steps to church domes and street signage.
It is travel advertising with a distinctly modernist edge: part photomontage, part graphic map, all Italian holiday promise. The huge ROME heading makes it especially strong on the wall.
This original poster is sized approx. 27 x 38 1/4 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).
