The War of the Worlds 1953 UK Quad Film Poster

One of the great sci-fi quads of the 1950s. This British poster for The War of the Worlds puts the Martian war machine front and centre, swooping across a city in flames as great beams of light slice diagonally through the artwork. Acid yellow, scarlet, purple and orange give the whole thing an almost radioactive Technicolor glow. Incredibly rare, highly collectible.

Produced by George Pal and directed by Byron Haskin, the 1953 adaptation of H. G. Wells’ novel became a landmark of atomic-age science fiction. The poster captures exactly what made it so thrilling: futuristic machines, spectacular destruction and Cold War paranoia turned into glorious pulp cinema.

This original poster has been professionally linen-backed and is sized approx. 30 x 39 7/8 inches (plus a little including the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
