Under the Greenwood Tree c1920s Swedish Film Poster

One of our favourites from the new collection. Under the Greenwood Tree (released as Rich Miss Hamilton in Sweden) is the 1918 American silent drama directed by Emile Chautard and starring Elsie Ferguson. Like so much early cinema, the film itself is now considered lost, making surviving publicity material especially evocative. 

The Swedish poster is therefore more than decoration: it is a vivid piece of evidence from a vanished film world. An extremely rare, highly collectible and important piece of early cinema. Rare, romantic and beautifully over a century old. 

This original movie poster is sized approx. 23 1/4 x 35 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).

• Condition Details: Originally folded (as issued) but stored flat a long time and folds softened. Light crinkling/creases through but still displays exceedingly well. Especially given its age.
